Ever go out to eat and just fancy something small?

Okay...us neither, but there are plenty of people who don't always fancy ordering the whole works.

In that instance, they might go for a starter or a couple of sides, or perhaps something from the children's menu. Or would they?

You see, there's a rather lively debate going on right now about whether ordering from the kids menu is acceptable as an adult, and people are very divided.

It all kicked off after influencer @vanessaschwarzz recently revealed she'd ordered pizza from a kids' menu at the hotel she was staying at in Japan.

"I'm in Japan right now and I just ordered room service. The girl who brought it to my room opens the door and she's like, 'Where's the kid?' I was like 'What do you mean?'" she told her followers.

Vanessa said the hotel staffer continued to question the whereabouts of her child, making her feel like ordering the pizza was a faux pas – but was it?!

"I feel judged," she told the people of TikTok.

However, a small bunch of viewers proceeded to judge her further...

"I don't trust adults that order off the kids menu' said one.

As another wrote: "Because in good restaurants the kids menu is cheap on purpose to the point of no profit. Adults should behave like adults."

"Typically, at least where I work, we don't make money off the kids menu and we only have it so we attract families," agreed another.

For all the cynics, there were many who claimed they also loved a children's menu (when they were allowed to order from it!).

"I've experienced so much pushback when ordering off the kids menu but WHY DOES IT MATTER?," one person asked. "It's my order. I'll order as much or as little as I like."

"I hate when places don't let adults order off kids menus," another chimed in. "It has to do with pricing but yeah I'm paying less bc it's a smaller portion...it still makes sense."

"Sometimes I just want a Happy Meal, idk why that bothers people," someone else protested.

So, what do you think? Is the kids menu fair game?
