A restaurant has divided opinion by adding a 'well behaved kids' discount to bills.

Yep, an eatery - which hasn't been named - is the talk of Reddit, after giving a family £6.72 off their bill for keeping the little'ns in check.

"This restaurant gives you a discount if you have well behaved kids," the caption reads.

We sadly don't have any more info on just how high a percentage of the bill this discount is worth, but the sheer concept of six quid off the bill has got people talking.

In the comments section, people were divided on whether it was the right approach.

"As someone who has what people continue to refer to as a 'well-behaved' baby, I think this is really stupid. Kids are people; they're human beings, and not all of them are going to be 'well-behaved' all the time. That's life," commented one parent in response to the post.

While another wrote: "Here's the thing: the server is going to have to make the judgement call on this, and if they say "no discount", I bet they risk getting punished on the tip."

"Does it give you a bigger discount for not bringing kids at all?," said a third.

While a fourth suggested: "How about if your kids are misbehaving, you are simply asked to leave? And you must pay the existing bill."

"I wonder what the breaking point for the boss was that made him implement this promotion," joked another Redditor.

The discount is certainly more favourable than another restaurant's approach, which was to add an additional fee for noisy kids.

Angie’s Oyster Bar & Grill, which can be found in the Tan Boon Liat Building at Outram Road, got people talking after one mother received a warning text ahead of her booking, informing her of the ‘screaming child surcharge’ they had just put in place.

The restaurant informed the recipient there would be a S$10 (£5.84) surcharge if their children made any noise - and you can imagine the reaction to that.
