French toast filled with a creamy soft custard, all covered with a brulee'd sugar top.
Mix condensed milk and flour together. Heat milk and water till it comes to a simmer. Combine hot milk and condensed milk mixture.
Pour mixture into a pan, add in the unsalted butter and cook over low heat. Stir constantly until mixture thickens up a bit. Then pour back into the bowl, cover with cling film to cool.
Spread thin layer of the custard filling on a slice of bread, place the other slice on top and press on the sides to make sure they are sticking together.
Whisk egg, vanilla and milk (if needed) in a wide dish. Soak the bread stack in this mixture for a minute, flip and do the same. Make sure to soak the sides as well.
Add a chunk of butter into a saucepan, when the pan is hot enough, place the bread onto saucepan and fry over low heat for about 2 minutes. Flip and fry for another 2 minutes.
Transfer to a plate and press in the top to create a well, then pour in the custard. Sprinkle over a layer of sugar and melt using a blowtorch or carefully under the grill.
