The Chicago Deep Dish Pizza-Filled Pizza

Ingredients

    All you'll need:
  • 220gpizza dough
  • 3frozen pizzas (of your choice)
  • 700gpassata sauce
  • 3 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1 brown onion, halved
  • 20g basil
  • 80g parmesan
  • 250g grated mozzarella
  • drizzle of extra virgin olive oil

Pizza lovers... imagine a pizza that is made out of pizzas, and topped with more pizza. Well, imagine no longer because we've only gone and made one! This is deep dish pizza dough, filled with three pizzas and topped with classic Chicago deep dish tomato sauce. It doesn't get better.

Method

  • Line a 12-inch spring cake tin with room temperature butter. Roll out your pizza dough until about 1cm thick, and spread it onto the cake tin. Press the dough into the tin, and trim off any excess.
  • start with a spoonful of passata, a handful of parmesan, and place your first frozen pizza face up. Cover with grated mozzarella and continue for the next pizza.
  • For the 3rd and final pizza, place face down into your cake tin, and cover the base of that pizza with more passata, parmesan and basil, along with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil.
  • Bake for around 45 minutes at 180°c, remove from the tin whilst still hot, garnish with more parmesan and basil, and enjoy.
